Subject:Hi!
Posted by:settees.
Time:11:11 pm.
Hi everyone! I realized very recently that I wasn't a part of nearly enough communities, and when asking myself what sort of communities I wanted to join, videogameart was the first thing to pop into my mind. Why? Because I love collecting 3d art pictures, especially girl wallpapers, which I put on my desktop. I also have a collection of outdoor pillows with cool shooter game prints. In addition to this, I am a curtain styles freak.

Hello.

This is my first post in this community. I like the idea of this community. I find video games to be a great inspiration for art.

Here's a drawing of mine of a MySims character:

FINALY! Something i can post!

Its been a while but the company i work for finally decided to go public with our project global agenda.

www.hirezstudios.com/global_agenda.html

First one contains 2 of my characters for the game, the second doesn't contain any of my work but its still pretty cool. :)

If you end up at GDC look for the booth where they'll be showing video from the game. :D

While it may not be artwork FOR video games, it is at least artwork FEATURING video games.

My latest photograph features... R.O.B. (Japanese), R.O.B. (US), an original grey zapper, and the first issue of the Nintendo Power magazine. This is just a small peice of my video game display case that I will be featuring more regularly on darkain_photos.

Time:6:34 pm.
Hey everyone this is my first time posting here.

Below is a WIP screen of my final school project. (Inspired by the Shadow of Colossus style)
Modeling done in 3dsmax textured with photoshop.

Comments and crit are welcomed. ;)

-Edit-

Here's what it looked like before :

And a occlusion screen :

I tried wireframe but it didn't look very great. So the occlusion will give an idea of the polygons.
The project is based on the capacity of "next-gen" systems. So there is a lot of polys! (138 000 polys)

For the 'skybox' I used a cylinder and a very high-res tileable sky picture I found on the net(4096x1024).

Subject:Trace Memory Pic
Posted by:tom_preston.
Time:12:58 pm.
Hello all... I'm new to LJ and this community so I thought i'd just get the formals out of the way and post a piece I did recently. I don't know how many of you have played Trace Memory for the DS, but I really really enjoyed that game and even went so far as to make this picture. It took alot of work to get it to look JUST like the game (although if you look carefully you can see a screw up in the texturing in the background... oops!) so here's the pic... hope you all enjoy it.

Hey guys. I'm new, so here's the ol' introduction...

I made a new livejournal in order to keep up with my friends AND post updates about my NWN Mod. Yeah, don't think I'm cool yet...because I don't even know how to begin modding...but I'mabumble through it anyway.

I'll be reading the jems on this community and any additional advice would be sehr awesome.

Oh...I guess I should add some lines in here about me. Uhm, I'm 20, I'm going to a liberal arts college in northwesten PA, and I don't have or know how to use Flash, Photoshop, or any other program that would be helpful (w00t for Microsoft Paint?). My gaming focus is in RPGs (although the only storylines I've come up with would only be appropriate for adventure games. >_< ) and I'm hoping to eventually create 2D concept art.

Tada!

Oh, and I'm a member of IGDA.

characters: Vincent Valentine
final fantasy: Advent Children

comments: Alright well, I don't know if this is okay here, buuut, I wanted to share my newest creation with everyone!
I have recently restarted my plushie business, and made this Vincent as a gift for my boyfriend, an absolute FF fan. But, I would love to know what everyone thinks!

I am currently open for all serious commissions, I have been sewing for over 13 years, and I can make just about anything that stands like a human, Although I am willing to draw up designs for certain animals/characters as well.

Character plush [12 inches tall with fully detailed face/ clothing] start at $35 and the price raises depending on the size you request and the level of detail needed. I am open to negociation, and I am a reasonable person!!
Payment for plushie and shipping is due prior to shipping of the plushie [much like an ebay auction], via paypal preferably.

Feel free to Email me at Greenb62@newpaltz.edu with any questions, I find it slightly easier than keeping up with lj threads =)

Thanks!

Hi, I have a somewhat unusual "gaming art history" question: what is up with the depiction of meat in early videogames? There's this particular image of meat that shows up in at least 9 videogames I know of, including:

The Legend of Zelda

Metal Slug

Final Fight 2

Pooyan

Here's a quick sketch of it:

Does anyone know where this image might have originated? I am dying to find some kind of answer or reason why this image has become so common. Feel free to repost this if you're curious too. Thanks!
